Norman Bicket

With an arrogant and superior attitude often likened to his older brother, Ronald Bicket, Norman was always disliked amongst his students and fellow staff, but, due to his family connections to the Board, it was generally believed that his permanent job as English teacher was a sad fact of life. After a harassment case involving Bicket and Lindsay Correy was brought to the attention of Senior Tutor Simon Evans by Peter Hannibal, however, many complaints followed, leading Evans to make the decision to sack Norman Bicket with immediate effect.

He's shorter than average, at 5'8", with a thick, stocky build. His entire complexion is pale, with grey-white hair, pallid, wrinkled skin and light blue eyes. A couple of his students who particularly disliked him have described him as "what you'd imagine a child-molester to look like." He wears conservative, nice outfits to work, such as nice trousers and button-down shirts.

He looks down on his colleges who dress casually to work, or who maintain what he calls 'unprofessional' relationships with their students, or who go by unorthodox methods, or who try to be funny and can't (which is everyone, normally, because the only things Norman finds funny apart from 'The Three Stooges' typically involve someone else getting hurt) or, well, he really looks down on all of his colleagues. And his students, of course, the self-obsessed, arrogant whippersnappers that they are. And the graduates, those hero-complexed fools. And the techs, who are only here because Deveraux needs people to do grunt work, and they really don't even deserve to work for the organization. He pretty much looks down on everyone.

He is extremely strict in his classroom, with things going his way or no way. Because of his narcissism and low views on those around him, he has no relationships at all, friend-wise or romantically. There are a few disturbing things in his profile, like the sexual and emotional frustrations Sian Andrea Medina found him to have when she did a psychoanalysis on him because he actually hit a student two years ago.

He was born in Calgary, Canada, and that's about all people know about him. He was trained as an English teacher and has spent the last 30 years teaching at Deveraux. His first job was at Deveraux, because his older brother Ronald Bicket was one of the governors. He was orthodox to the letter, but unpopular anyway, probably because to teach in Deveraux requires a level of unconventionality. However, his brother is still on the Board, thus he has yet to be fired, even though Steel is riding the Board about it hard. He can get away with anything short of murder, and it's rumoured he even did that. All that is known for a fact is that he has no wife, no kids, nothing.
