Holly Marie Yates

An American from the state of Nevada, Holly Yates is a Region White graduate who was based in Moscow, Russia up until recently. Having harboured a crush on Harry Jennings since she first joined the College, this has now blossomed into a full relationship. After their own fair share of stumbling blocks from both sides, Holly is now living with her partner in St Petersburg.

Holly has blonde hair that falls over her shoulders and is slightly wavy. She has light grey/blue eyes that really stand out against her slightly pale skin. She is 5'8" tall and is quite slim from dancing a lot. When at home in Russia she is rarely seen without her ski-hat and wrapped up in many layers, or putting to good use her Christmas present, a set of climaclothes, off, her now boyfriend, Harry Jennings.

Holly can be considered as emotional by many people and can fly into a rage when something deeply affects her. She is sometimes affected by what she sees in front of her, such as her dislike of the cold being linked to watching Harry Jennings slip into hypothermia. She is always one to use sarcastic remarks and humour to make light of a situation and to hide how she actually feels. Her long crush has only furthered her patience. Initially she could have been seen as spoilt but she is beginning to lose this reputation and become a lot more realistic about life. After a slight knock in her confidence she has bounced back from this and has applied herself more to not only just fitting in in Russia but also being able to function properly, her study of Russian indepthly after Mission Ружьё a testament to this.

She is not against the odd lie if it would benefit all the people involved such as covering up a fellow agent’s indiscretion.

As her mother would say, Holly was very much an unexpected miracle. Her mother, Sally, did not know she was pregnant until a few hours before Holly was born. Sally started having contractions but dismissed them as just stomach pains from overfilling herself at the Christmas dinner. Holly was born three hours later next to the Christmas tree. Sally and Roger Yates had been told they would never have children so Holly was even more of a miracle. Due to her birth date, they named her Holly, much to her disgust when she was older.

She was quite spoilt when she was younger, and did nearly every extra-curricular activity she could fit in. This led to her feeling very pressured by her parents. The one activity that she did was ballet and found she loved to dance. Slowly she managed to persuade her parents to drop most of her other classes and allow her to take more ballet classes. She was soon competing for her state, Nevada, and then moved on to competing on a national level, bringing her to the attention of Deveraux Selector Agents. She passed up on a scholarship to The School of American Ballet to attend the equally-prestigious Deveraux College.

She was placed in Solo Team and graduated with good results in 2108 and was assigned to Region White - much to her delight due to having a major crush on the Harry Jennings, the Region White agent who had graduated ahead of her. She harboured this crush for at least eight years and just made the most of the time that she got when they were placed together on a mission. It wasn’t until the unfortunate end of Mission Ружьё that she began to address her feelings for Harry properly, she knew that they were becoming more apparent and she just hoped that Harry felt the same way. She knew that she wouldn’t be the same now that she had been used to being with him and was near distraught when the news came through that Harry would be staying at Deveraux. She managed to cover her feelings and just kept working through the year. She was delighted when Harry invited her over for Christmas and was ecstatic when her nine year crush finally became a reality but for her hopes to be dashed again when they broke up when Harry returned to Deveraux. She knew the pain it had caused her and tried her best to think of him an ass and not to get back in contact with him unless it was completely necessary. She was thrown back together with him for Mission MI6 and after a rocky start where Holly regretted what she said, they became a couple again. They resolved to see each other as much as they could with Holly flying in from Moscow when she had the chance.
