Stephanie Mathers

Stephanie has long curly dark hair naturally, however she recently dyed it pink in a moment of madness. The pink hair is her most striking feature. She likes to dress in a bohemian fashion, preferring to dress up in clothes that fit her mood. She has brown eyes and perfect teeth, and is never caught without at least one of her many rings and necklaces. She has a full face, adorned with several piercings (mostly on her ears) which add to her overall look.

She's a very caring and understanding person; her ambition in life was to be a nurse. She's amiable and never seems to have a bad word to say about anybody. She's been described as being "kooky", which she takes in her stride, often attempting to play up this image. She's good at taking orders, but prefers being a free spirit, unlimited by the constraints of society. Her persistence in breaking rules, without intent, often gets her into trouble. She's passionate about her music and about nature.

Stephanie was born in a dirty motel in Chicago, and caught tuberculosis within weeks of birth. However, she battled through it and survived. Her weak immune system was to be her foil in life - she's had chicken pox twice, scarlet fever and is susceptible to influenza. Being a sickly child growing up, she took a lot of time to appreciate a lot of the weaker life forms around her such as plants and small animals. After being treated with the wonders of nano-technology, Stephanie was never really bothered with serious illness again, but her passion for protection continued to burn brightly. Her parents are extremely protective of her, and found it difficult to let their daughter go to Deveraux. She grew to resent her parents' overbearing attitude to her life, and took many reckless chances to rebel: staying out all night, hanging out with a bad crowd, etc. She has another passion - music. She loves to sing, dance and always secretly dreamt she could be a star one day. Some of her friends reckoned she could give it a go, but she knew she could never do it, not while her parents were taking babysteps for her. Attending Deveraux is her way of changing the future that seems predetermined for her.
